History

Male Shih Tzu. Unknown age. The patient presented with vomiting and not eating. Wheezes in the right thorax upon examination.

Findings

There is an ovoid soft tissue opacity measuring 3cm within the mid intrathoracic esophageal lumen. The esophagus is gas filled cranial to it. The pulmonary parenchyma and cardiovascular structures are within normal limits. There is a sharp 2cm osseous fragment over the gastric lumen. The musculoskeletal system is unremarkable.

Diagnosis

Esophageal foreign body. No current evidence of aspiration pneumonia. Osseous foreign material in the stomach.
