Findings
Abdomen - ventrodorsal and lateral radiographs are available for interpretation.
Abdominal serosal detail is normal.
There is a large, well-margined, rounded, lobular, mineral opaque structure in the area of the left kidney which measures approximately 1.5 cm H x 2.1 cm L x 1.6 cm W in dimension. The visible margins of the left kidney are normal.
The right kidney is mildly enlarged but maintains smooth margins.
There are numerous, variably sized, stippled to rounded mineral opaque foci within the urinary bladder and urinary bladder neck; the largest of which measures approximately 1.0 cm in dimension. A few of these mineral opaque structures are heterogeneous and have a layered appearance with a radiolucent center.
On the ventrodorsal radiograph, there is the impression of linearly oriented calculi which extend beyond the cranial margin of the urinary bladder.
The gastrointestinal tract, liver, and spleen are normal.
The included portions of the thorax are normal.
The femoral trochlea are reduced in size and the patellae are superimposed with the femoral trochlea/condyles bilaterally. The sesamoids of the right gastrocnemius are multi-partite. The acetabulae are shallow and provide <25% coverage of the femoral heads bilaterally. The femoral necks are thickened and there is marked periarticular new bone formation associated with the coxofemoral joints bilaterally.
Diagnosis
- Left large nephrolith, cystolithiasis, and suspected right uretrolithiasis. The right renomegaly is concerning for hydronephrosis given the suspected right ureterolithiasis. - Marked bilateral coxofemoral degenerative joint disease likely secondary to underlying hip dysplasia.
- Bilateral patellar luxation and multi-partite sesamoids of the right gastrocnemius muscle.
