Findings

Orthogonal radiographs of the abdomen are available for interpretation.

The margins of the urinary bladder are poorly defined. There are numerous, round, smoothly marginated, mineral opaque uroliths measuring up to approximately 2.6 cm in greatest dimension in the plane of the urinary bladder. A urinary catheter is seen extending approximately to the mid-body of the urinary bladder.

The serosal detail, liver, spleen, discernible portions of the kidneys, retroperitoneal space, and gastrointestinal tract are normal.

There are only six normal lumbar vertebrae. The included caudal thorax is unremarkable.

Diagnosis

Cystolithiasis. Struvite or calcium phosphate calculi are considered most likely given the shape and opacity of these uroliths, but urolith composition analysis and urinalysis are recommended for further evaluation.
