Findings
Orthogonal radiographs of the thorax are available for interpretation.
There is moderate cardiomegaly characterized by widening, rounding and elongation of the cardiac silhouette. On the VD projection there is biatrial enlargement, and the left atrial enlargement leads to the impression of a valentine's heart. The remaining thoracic structures are normal. There is no current evidence of cardiac decompensation.
Diagnosis
- Cardiomegaly is most suggestive of hypertrophic cardiomyopathy
- No current evidence of cardiac decompensation.
Discussion
An echocardiography confirmed the hypertrophic cardiomyopathy.
