Findings

Orthogonal radiographs of the thorax are available for interpretation.

In the plane of the caudal esophagus, superimposed with the vertebral column in the ventrodorsal view, there is a roughly ovoid, mineral opaque object measuring approximately 3.0cm in length and 2cm in greatest diameter (not calibrated). The cranial margin of this object is focally concave while the caudal aspect is bilobed.

There is a small amount of gas in the cranial intrathoracic esophagus.

The remainder of the thoracic cavity is normal.

The patient underwent endoscopy and piece of what was most likely pork rib was removed without any immediate complications.
