Findings

Lateral and dorsopalmar radiographs of the right carpus are available for review.

In the distal metaphysis of both the radius and ulna, there is an osteolucent band running parallel to the distal physis. There is mild focal soft tissue swelling surrounding the metaphyses. No abnormalities are appreciated in the carpus.

An intravenous catheter is present on the cranial aspect of the distal antebrachium.

Diagnosis

The findings are consistent with hypertrophic osteodystrophy (metaphyseal osteopathy) of the right radius and ulna.
