Findings
There is a diffuse marked miliary pattern. The cardiac silhouette is within normal limits. The caudal vena cava is small. The trachea and laryngeal structures are normal. No abnormalities are seen in the pleural space. Two small spherical metallic foci are present in soft tissues of the dorsal mid left body wall. A feeding tube is in place
Diagnosis
- Marked pulmonary infiltrate is consistent with fungal pneumonia (Blastomycosis).
- Small vena cava is consistent with dehydration/hypovolemia.
- Successful nasogastric tube placement.
- Two small metallic ballistic foci in the left body wall, incidental.
Discussion
The patient was confirmed to have Blastomycosis and was medically treated.
