Findings

Orthogonal radiographs of the right tibia are available for interpretation.

There is an avulsion fracture of the right tibial crest which is displaced proximally and cranially. Between the tibial crest and the tibial diaphysis, there are numerous wispy partially mineralized structures. There is severe thickening of the soft tissues associated with the patella ligament. The popliteal lymph node is mildly enlarged. Noted on the craniocaudal projection, medial to the right femur, there is a scant amount of gas superimposed with the musculature.

Diagnosis

Changes most consistent with avulsion of the tibial crest on the right side.

Discussion

The patient underwent surgical stabilization and is doing well.
