Findings

Orthogonal radiographs of the pelvis are available for interpretation.

The right femoral head is mishappen, sclerotic, and poorly congruent to the acetabulum. There is moderate muscle atrophy affecting the right tigh. There is bilateral medial bowing of the proximal tibia. There is mild subcutaneous emphysema at the level of the left quadriceps.

Diagnosis

Changes most consistent with Legg-Calve Perthes on the right side and secondary muscle atrophy. Bilateral tibial bowing could be indicative of underlying patellar luxation. Gas likely iatrogenic in origin.

Discussion

A FHO was performed on the affected leg and the patient recovered well.
