Findings

Orthogonal radiographs of the left antebrachium and carpus are available for interpretation.

There is a large, lobular, mixed soft tissue and stippled mineral opaque mass centered on the soft tissues caudal/palmar and lateral to the distal antebranchium and carpus at the level of the accessory carpal bone. There is near complete obliteration of the accessory carpal bone and the remaining bone is markedly misshapened and blunted. The mineralized portion of the mass is largely centered at the palmar aspect of the accessory carpal bone, extending proximally.

The margins of the remainder of the carpal bones are radiographically normal.

There is mild, irregularly marginated but well-defined periarticular new bone formation of the elbow. The radius has moderate cranial bowing centered at its mid to distal diaphysis.

The radius and ulnar have medial bowing at their proximal metaphysis/diaphysis.

Diagnosis

Discussion

The mass was confirmed as a sarcoma based on FNAs (osteosarcoma vs. chondrosarcoma). The patient has been started on palliative radiation therapy.
