History
4 year old Basset Hound. Decreased appetite. "Not himself"

Findings
Orthogonal radiographs of the abdomen are available for interpretation.
The serosal detail is within normal limits.
The right kidney is severely enlarged and irregular in shape with a rounded caudal pole.
The spleen is mildly enlarged. The left kidney is normal in shape and size. , liver, urinary bladder, and gastrointestinal tract are normal.
There is mild bilateral coxofemoral degenerative joint disease.
Diagnosis
- Right renal mass, consistent with the previously sampled epithelial neoplasia. The left kidney is normal in size and shape.
- Splenomegaly is likely secondary to sedation.
- Bilateral coxofemoral degenerative joint disease.
Discussion
The patient also had thoracic radiographs which revealed no evidence of pulmonary metastasis. The mass was diagnosed as neoplastic based on FNAs. The patient underwent full necropsy, as the owner elected to, and was confirmed to have a papillary renal cell carcinoma
