Findings

Opposite lateral and VD radiographs of the abdomen are available for interpretation.

The serosal detail is mildly diffusely decreased, and there is mild fluid-streaking in the caudoventral abdomen at the level of the urinary bladder.

There is a large, lobular, fluid-filled structure distending the mid-caudal abdomen which courses along the lateral aspects of the body wall on the VD projection. This structure is causing craniodorsal deviation of the intestines.

The stomach contains a moderate volume of granular, mixed soft tissue and gas opaque material, most consistent with ingesta. A few small intestinal segments contain a moderate volume of gas. The colon is normal. The liver, spleen and visible margins of the urinary bladder are normal. The renal margins are largely obscured.

The caudal lumbar vertebrae are scoliotic.

Conclusion

Discussion

The cat underwent surgery and was confirmed with a pyometra.
