Findings

Orthogonal radiographs of the thorax are acquired.

The patient has increased subcutaneous, intrathoracic, and abdominal adipose tissue. The cardiac silhouette is normal on the lateral views and mildly rounded on the VD view. The pulmonary vessels are normal. The pulmonary parenchyma is normal. The remaining thoracic structures are normal. There are multiple open physes, consistent with the reported age of the patient. The included abdominal structures are normal.

Diagnosis

Normal thorax. The mild rounding of the cardiac silhouette on the VD view is likely due to the presence of pericardial fat.
