Findings

Orthogonal radiographs of the abdomen are available for interpretation.

The serosal detail is normal.

The ventral body wall appears intact. There is a large soft tissue outpouching from the left inguinal area, consistent with an inguinal hernia. The hernia sac contains a large amount of small intestinal segments which are normal in diameter.

The colon remains in the peritoneal cavity and is normal. The stomach, liver, spleen, kidneys, and urinary bladder are normal. There is incidental lumbar spondylosis deformans.

Diagnosis

Large inguinal hernia with herniation of many small intestinal segments.
