Findings

Orthogonal projections of the lumbo-sacral junction are available for interpretation.

There is ill-defined lysis of the caudal endplate of L7 and of the cranial endplate of S1 with sclerosis of the adjacent portions of the vertebral bodies. There is ventral subluxation of S1 with regard to L7 resulting in a step within the vertebral canal at the lumbosacral junction. Well-defined, bridging new bone formation is noted at the L7-S1 intervertebral disc space.

Diagnosis

L7-S1 discospondylitis with associated subluxation of S1
