Findings

Orthogonal radiographs of the left stifle are available for interpretation.

There is moderate stifle intracapsular soft tissue swelling, resulting in cranial displacement of the infrapatellar fat pad.

There is cranial displacement of the tibia with regards to the femoral condyles.

The patella is located more distal than normal. A small, well-defined, mineral opacity is noted just caudal and proximal to the medial fabella. A few additional pinpoint, mineral opacities are noted immediately adjacent to the medial fabella.

Diagnosis

Left stifle changes are most consistent with ligamentous damage and joint instability, such as secondary to cranial and caudal cruciate ligament rupture.

Concurrent patella baja.

Mineral opaque fragments adjacent to the medial fabella are most consistent with a multipartite fabella.

Discussion

The patient underwent TPLO procedure. Additional caudal meniscal tear was found upon exploration of the joint.
