Findings

Orthogonal radiographs of the abdomen are available for interpretation.

The serosal margin detail is normal.

There are large soft tissue opaque tubular structures that extend caudally between the colon and urinary bladder to the pelvic canal on the lateral views. The mammillae are prominent.

The remaining abdominal structures including the liver, spleen, and gastrointestinal tract are within normal limits.

There is narrowing of the T12-13, L1-L2 and L3-L4 intervertebral disc spaces with endplate sclerosis and varying degrees of spondylosis deformans. A small amount of mineral opaque material is identified within the plane of the L1-L2 intervertebral foramen.

Diagnosis

Uterine distention is consistent with pyometra, mucometra or hydrometra. Given the clinical history pyometra is the primary differential. An early pregnancy cannot be excluded.

Discussion

Pyometra.
