Findings

Orthogonal radiographs of the thorax are available for interpretation.

There is mild to moderate retraction of the pulmonary parenchyma from the thoracic wall. Furthermore there is a moderate amount of pleural effusion most noted within the right hemithorax on the VD projection as characterized by the presence of pleural fissure lines between the right cranial, right middle and right caudal lung lobe. This is also associated with mild border effacement of the cardiac silhouette on the lateral projections.

Within the pulmonary parenchyma most noted within the ventral lung lobes there is patchy coalescing alveolar to severe interstial pattern.

There is mild to moderate venous enlargement of the pulmonary vasculature. Subjectively there is moderate cardiomegaly with bilateral atriomegaly on the VD projection. Overall there is mild ventriculomegaly on the left side as characterized by a tall cardiac silhouette on the lateral projections.

The cranial abdomen and the musculoskelettal system are considered to be within normal limits.

Diagnosis

Left sided heart failure.
