Pulmonary pattern quizz

  1. What is the main pulmonary pattern on these radiographs?

    Alveolar pattern

    No :)
    Nodular interstitial pattern

    No :)
    Bronchial pattern

    Yeah :)
    Unstructured interstitial pattern

    No :)

Findings

Orthogonal radiographs of the thorax are available for interpretation.

Diffusely throughout the pulmonary parenchyma there is a pulmonary pattern characterized by increased bronchial wall thickness (doughnuts and railroads). The cardiovascular structures are within normal limits for the age of the patient.

The musculoskeletal system and cranial abdomen are considered to be within normal limits.

Diagnosis

Diffuse bronchial pattern graded as severe. Primary consideration is given to feline asthma. Underlying parasitic and allergic etiologies cannot be ruled out.

Pathology Report

The bronchoalveolar lavage showed sign of mixed inflammation with a majority of eosinophilic. The coprology was negative. The patient was diagnosed with feline asthma.
