Findings

There is a moderate amount of soft tissue swelling centered on the mid to distal metatarsus and dorsal aspect of the metatarso-phalangeal joint. On the medial aspect of the mid-diaphysis of the metatarsus there is a sclerotic linear osseous fragment measuring about 7cm in length. That fragment is surrounded by a radiolucent rim. The surrounding bone is sclerotic and there is moderate periosteal proliferation on both the medial and lateral aspect of the distal metatarsus graded as moderate to severe.

Diagnosis

The described above radiographic findings are consistent with a sequestrum, associated periosteal proliferation and soft tissue swelling. The involucrum and the cloaca are well seen.
